New Course - Digital Forensic Photography
NUCPS's investigative photography courses have been revised and combined into
one Digital Forensic Photography workshop. This workshop maintains many of the
foundational principles of film-based photography while delving into digital
applications in the forensic field. Students are instructed in the digital
format, camera operation, file types and archiving, lighting techniques,
controlling and printing digital images, testimony and more.

New Course - Motorcycle Crash Reconstruction
Register
now. Motorcycle Crash Reconstruction examines the unique and specialized
characteristics of motorcycles when involved in collisions or loss of control
incidents. Topics covered include the vehicle's components, vehicle handling,
unique dynamics, event data recorders and the braking system, and the course
utilizes a mixture of instructional methods including practical outdoor
exercises using actual motorcycles.
Transportation Engineering Training at NUCPS
NUCPS has worked to meet the professional development needs of engineers from
national, state and local transportation agencies since our first engineering
workshop was offered in 1950. We offer a wide variety of courses in roadway and
intersection design, signal operations, pedestrian facility planning and design,
traffic and capacity analysis and crash investigation for transportation
engineers.

Alexander Kloch Memorial Scholarship Fund Established
Sergeant Alexander J. Kloch, Skokie Police Department (retired), recently passed
away. Sergeant Kloch was a graduate of PATP #38 held in Evanston in 1964.
Sergeant Kloch's last request was to establish a scholarship fund for Skokie
Police officers to continue their law enforcement education at Northwestern

NUCPS Celebrates 75 Years
The Honorable Rahm Emanuel, Mayor of the city of Chicago,
officially proclaimed October 23, 2011 as NUCPS Day in Chicago. October 23, 2011
also was the date of NUCPS's 75th Anniversary Celebration held at the Harold

NUCPS is excited to announce the launch of Supervision
of Police Personnel Online, a comprehensive course in first-line supervision
that provides the cornerstone for managerial and supervisory positions
throughout the policing career. Due to the online nature of the course,
activities and assignments may vary from the on-ground version of Supervision of
Police Personnel; however, course objectives and topics covered remain the same
and students who successfully complete either version of the course return to
their agencies having gained the same knowledge base.

New Event Data Recorder Courses at NUCPS
NUCPS has completely revised the curriculum for all classes relating to obtaining information from and about motor vehicle Event Data Recorders (EDRs or "black boxes"). These courses are based on the proprietary Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) system. We now offer four
